Saspol Caves

One of the painted caves, that have been given a coat of lime wash and red paint in the exterior is the most visited and has been considered as the main cave. Very few early period painted cave temples exist in Ladakh and these paintings are dated to 15th Century CE. The caves also known as Gon-Nila-Phuk Cave temples are in danger of total collapse and were therefore listed in 2016 World Monuments Watch. Basgo Monastery

Basgo Monastery or Basgo Gompa, is a Buddhist monastery located in Basgo in Leh District, Ladakh, northern India approximately 40 km from Leh. Although the monastery was built for the Namgyal rulers in 1680, Bazgo itself was embedded in the early days of Ladakh and is frequently mentioned in the Ladakhi Chronicles when it was a political and cultural center.[1] In the 15th century, a palace was built in Basgo.
